| Are environmental education initiatives effective for the conservation of Jaguar? |
What is the aim of the review?
The main sources of threat for jaguar (Panthera onca) populations are habitat loss and hunting activities relating to conflicts between this species and humans. In both cases, but especially in the case of conflict-related hunting activities, conservation initiatives should take into account the implementation of an indirect measure to achieve the protection of jaguar, such as environmental education.
The review aims to answer the following question: "are environmental education programs effective for the conservation of the jaguar? ", and will also try to determine the variation in the effectiveness of environmental education programs for the conservation of the jaguar, due to factors such as different anthropogenic activities, degree of conflict between the predator and humans, type of educational strategy and characteristics of the target audience.
