| Does saltmarsh restoration benefit bird populations or their habitats? |
What
is the aim of the review?
To address the following primary questions -
- Have bird numbers increased following restoration efforts in salt marshes?
- Do plant communities change in a manner consistent with greater bird use?
And, secondarily -
- What influence do various interventions have on the development of habitat
suitable for saltmarsh birds?
- What changes in vegetation types are associated with specific restoration
interventions?
- What plant community compositions are associated with bird use in salt marshes?
- How does marsh change depend on time since intervention?
- there geographic differences in the responses of the avian community to restoration?
